Like You

Inspired by the Evanescence song of the same name and by a story a dear friend told me about the death of his childhood best friend's sister. I cried while he was telling me about it, so there had to be hard rain.

"The Realization"

It's not the same, everything's blurred, run together & muddy.

Insanity was hers to feel, think, believe--everything--everything--everything could exist.

She sees his face, hears his sadness, and feels the tug and pull within.

Was it real? Was it factual? Was it something that could've happened beyond a dream?

The elusive one's mind reflects pauses, remembers, recalls, and summons endless hours of promise, dedication, commitment, and proposal.

Foggy mists blur images, talk, laughter, and the never ending abyss and emotional connection between two fading loves.

Why is it that in order to exist in life, there must also exist a sprinkle of cruelty? Cruelty--- to defer one's own heart from a romantic & deep love to a secure faithful love.

Why does life play its silly game? Why does life pick the path you must cement your feet in? When does it end, and begin where your heart wants to be?

How does the mind differentiate between real time reality and the created reality which existed --between two loves?

How does she know, that it might have, could have, maybe have happened?

Everyday it reminds her of what--now seems so far, so distant, created, made up, and pretended?

Will the loves ever appear in the flesh and finally be? Or will it always remain an apparition because it never--ever--ever could be a true realization, for the both of them?
