The Nothing by Selfish-Eden The Nothing by Selfish-Eden
The Neverending Story has always been one of my favorite movies. As a child, I was always terrified that "The Nothing" would come and I would be the last survivor. This is my interpretation. I don't like it, possibly because the thought of being the sole survivor of my family and watching my world fall apart still frightens me.

it reminds me of 19th century norwegian artist Theodor Kittelsens portrayal of the black death, embodied in the form of an old woman robed in black, sweeping the land of lives. this is my favorite picture of her: [link](Pesta_on_the_Stairs).jpg
The similarity is so strong, and the dread is equally great. Nice work

Very nice. It definitely conveys that feeling of despair there was when the Nothing was eating away at Fantasia...

Mm, this is very well done, and I find that your reasons for making it in the first place give it a greater poignancy than if you'd just done it for kicks. I'd buy this and hang it on my wall if I could.

I thought of The Neverending Story when I read your title but thought it must be coincidence. Very cool that you were inspired by it! It was one of my favorites as a child. I love the dreary, bleak atmosphere you created here. The stock is perfect!

When Michael Ende gave me his autograph at a fantasy-congress, he said "Oh my god whats that" when he saw my battle plan on which he autographed . . .

btw I know the place where your artwork shows.
It's Nothing Hill.

I'm going to be completely honest here. Don't shoot me. This isn't my favorite thing you've done. I don't know what it is. I'm not particularly fond of how the top part of her hair is plastered to her head at the top half. I think a few stray whisps of hair would have helped that. A lighter color dress would have broken up some of the black on her. For me, a lighter color on her dress would had made it pop and would have made it more poignant and painful. That being said, this is still a wonderful concept. I like the mist coming to swallow her, and I like how the woods are so dull and distant. The whole setting is stunning and very well put together.

Yeah, I think the hair is weird, too. I might change it later just for the Hell of it. She's wearing dark purple because she's portraying me, and I wear dark colors a lot, LOL. That said, I think a different color would look better, too. Thanks for the honest feedback!

Wow, I love that hair. I like how you gave that nice distant feeling to the scenery, but I think that the girl would be better in the centre than off on the side. Still, I really like this and it's a great idea.
